Here is the description she provided:
"Unfortunately, I can't claim the credit for making this particular outfit. Both my boyfriend and I are passionate re-enactors of various periods and he is responsible for the mail, sandles or caligae, sword belts, underarmour, and the funky hat which is actually a helmet liner.

This is the kit of a junior centurion. The chainmail or lorica hamata was used throughout the late Republic and early Empire (c. 150 BCE to c. 100 CE). The pyterges or subarmalis was commonly worn underneath the armour to add a layor of cushioning between the mail and the skin. This particular tunic with the two verticle purple stripes shows that I'm of the equites or Knight class, though normally there should only be one stripe on the right shoulder."
