Artist's Comments
Here is the artist's comments on her work:
"This is a little update on my black elizabethan gown.
I made a second bodice with a deeper. square neckline so that I could show of my blackwork embroidered partlet
The bodice was quite fast and easy to do althoufh I had to do the silver embroidery with my own hands .. the original plan had been to sew that silver lines all over the bodice, but sadly, granny Pfaff didn't like the silver thread. So I decided to do only the two little parts on the front.
The gown has now a more english style and is not that warm because I wanted to wear it on the last Goettertanz in my favourite club. It was really perfect, not too hot and not too cold.
And perhaps I might have performances in summer with my historic dance group ...
At the moment I'm still working on an chemise with blackwork embroidered sleeves which should give that gown the last perfect touch ... I'm going to attach lacing strips for extra sleeves as well but I fear I cannot move any more with laced in sleeves ... the bodice is a little small at the shoulders ...
.. the picture was taken short time before we went to the Goettertanz ... .. I'll replace it for a better one as soon as possible, my living room isn't quite a good bakground "
